ANDREW FRANCES: A FEW MUSIC & FILM CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Consulted Garth Brooks. Brooks became the biggest selling solo artist in the history of the US music business selling well in excess of 100 million albums prior to retiring. He is second only to the Beatles in all time U.S. sales. Frances created the first direct to consumer CD sales directly from the artist via Walmart (cutting out the record label entirely).
Mr. Frances secured approximately 50 million dollars in funds for licenses on behalf of David Bowie (via Bertelsman, Rykodisc,/Warner Brothers Music Group, EMI/Capitol, JVC, PolyGram, Nike, and Phillips Inc.). Also consulted Bowie re the acquisition of 55 million dollars in capital development via the issuance of publicly traded "Bowie Bonds" created by Bill Zysblat and Tom Cyrana.
Mr. Frances increased Warner Brothers Music Group Inc. overall market share 4% by "mid-wifing" successful independent label Curb Records (owned by former California Lt. Governor Mike Curb) into their company. Artists included Hank Williams, Jr., Wynonna, Sawyer Brown, LeAnn Rimes, The Judds, Hal Ketchum, Mel Tillis, T.G. Sheppard, Jim Stafford, Ray Stevens, Andreas Moss, and Tim McGraw
Mr. Frances’ business savvy has yielded him the unique diplomatic ability to reunite warring musicians. He successfully reunited platinum duo Kenny Loggins and Jimmy Messina (Loggins & Messina) for their first concert in 14 years (and new record project on Columbia Records). Mr. Frances also reunited another hit band The Oak Ridge Boys.
Mr. Frances sparked a commercial resurgence of roots oriented blues music by licensing, marketing & branding John Lee Hooker's "The Healer". The CD went gold garnering a Grammy award.
Mr. Frances spearheaded the alternative music boom by developing the successful business model for independent labels with major label distribution, known as Chameleon Records "from" EMI/Capitol. That label also licensed and distributed platinum selling hit diskery Epitaph, with multi million selling acts like Bad Religion, Red cross, Offspring, Rancid, and L7.
Mr. Frances has superior internet credentials: Helped created iFanz.com, an internet based communication, merchandising and licensing content company featuring fan/customer relations management digital tools, community and affinity marketing, database /financial modeling, viral promotions. etc. iFanz is part of Ruth McCartney’s McCartneyMultimedia empire (she is Paul McCartney's step sister). iFanz clients include Bon Jovi's Ritchie Sambora, Clint Black, David Cassidy, Fleetwood Mac, GM, Fox, MGM, etc.
Mr. Frances created Adwater & Stir Management Consultancy including a music label distributed by the Time-Warner Music Group; a TV/movie division (in association with ABC, Universal and others); and a business management, licensing and consulting company.
Mr. Frances developed the hit movie (and book) “BlacKKKlansman” on behalf of client Ron Stallworth, who is the title character. Adam Driver and John David Washington (Denzel’s son) play Ron in the movie, directed by Spike Lee and produced by Jordan Peele
